I’m not really surprised. The American people harbored ridiculously high expectations for him. Like nearly everyone on the planet, they expected our leaders to be perfect, or near perfect, or adhere to their own ideals exactly.
What really pisses me off is that he has only been in office for seven months, and idiots like the author has already written off his administration as a disaster. I didn’t vote for George W. Bush (and the only way I would do so if someone had put a gun to my head), but I didn’t even pay attention to him when he was in office . . . until the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. In other words, it took nearly two years for me to really harbor doubts about Bush.
I wonder . . . if Obama had been white, the American people would have been more patient with Obama. Come to think of it, I rather doubt it. People are too damn impatient and too stupid to realize that politicians cannot perform miracles. I haven’t approved of everything that Obama has done, but I’m not stupid enough to dismiss him as a has been after he has been in office for seven months.
