NYC man indicted in Harvard dorm killing

WOBURN, Mass. — A New York City man has been indicted in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man inside a Harvard University dormitory last month.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said Friday that Jabrai (juh-BRY’) Jordan Copney was indicted a day earlier on charges including first-degree murder and armed robbery in the death of Justin Cosby, of Cambridge.

Leone says 20-year-old Copney and two other men arranged to meet Cosby on May 18 to buy marijuana and rob him. During a confrontation inside a common area, Cosby was shot. He died the next day.

None of the men were Harvard students.

Copney turned himself in to Cambridge police on May 21 and has been held without bail. No date has been set for his arraignment.
