Northrop gets $7M Navy deal

WASHINGTON — Northrop Grumman Corp.’s shipbuilding unit received a $7 million contract boost for additional services on the USS Enterprise, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the Pentagon said late Tuesday.

Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by January 2010.

Shares of the Los Angeles-based company rose $1.40, or 2.8 percent, to $51.19 in after-hours trading, after falling $1.40, or 2.7 percent, to close at $49.79.
