August 23rd, 2009 LIMA - Nineteen people, including three women, were killed Sunday when the bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a ravine in southern Peru, media reports said. The accident occurred near the Quichuas town in southern Huancavelica province.

August 19th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least 16 people, including four children, were killed Wednesday when the passenger bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a gorge in northwest Pakistan, TV reports said. The accident occurred in the Mansehra area.

August 14th, 2009 PANAMA - At least 22 people were killed and 18 injured when a passenger bus and a truck collided head on in eastern Panama, media reports said. The accident occurred Thursday night near Pacora town in eastern Panama, the Telemetro TV said.

August 2nd, 2009 HARARE - Thirty-seven people were killed Sunday when a passenger bus and a truck collided head on in northern Zimbabwe, police said. One of the victims was from the truck, while the rest were from the bus.

July 29th, 2009 BOGOTA - Five civilians were killed and five injured in attacks launched by rebels in northwest Colombia, authorities said Tuesday. Tatiana Valencia, representative of the local government, said the attacks were launched by the Revolutionary Armed Force of Colombia (FARC), which has not been confirmed yet.

April 9th, 2009 BOGOTA - Eight people were killed and four wounded in clashes between two rival gangs in the northwestern Colombia, the police said Wednesday. Members of La 39 and La Galeras gangs, which work for drug traffickers, clashed between them in the city of Medellin following an attack on a salon in the La Pradera neighborhood that killed two youths and injured one, the police said.

March 4th, 2009 BOGOTA - A police helicopter crashed in South Colombia killing all four people on board, Spanish news agency EFE reported Wednesday. The helicopter has been missing since early Tuesday and was by search and rescue teams in southern Colombian province of Putumayo, authorities said.

February 9th, 2009 BOGOTA - At least 18 people have been killed by leftist rebels in a settlement in Colombia, EFE news agency reported Tuesday. According to the National Indigenous Organization of Colombia (ONIC), the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerrillas have killed at least 18 Awa Indians in recent days in southwestern Colombia's Narino province.

February 3rd, 2009 BOGOTA - More than 20 people have been killed and four injured when the bus they were travelling in plunged into a ravine in northwestern Colombia, the EFE news agency reported Wednesday. The accident occurred Tuesday when the bus rolled more than 200 meters down an embankment near the town of Carmen de Atrato, in the province of Choco, on the border with Panama.

January 1st, 2009 BOGOTA - At least five people were killed and 65 wounded during a New Year's celebration in northern Colombia, police officials said Thursday. The victims were almost all members of the Indio ethnic group, the Kanukana, who live in Atanquez.

December 26th, 2008 BOGOTA - Five people including a former rebel have been shot dead in northwesten Colombia, local media reported Friday quoting police. The people were killed on Christmas day as they were driving to their country house in Arauca province.
