ISLAMABAD - The suspected mastermind of the attack on Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi has been arrested, police say.

The attack which took place earlier this month injured Kazmi, while his driver and security guard were killed.

According to the Daily Times, police arrested Abdul Karim, who is an operative of a banned organisation, after investigators matched his fingerprints to those found on the weapons used in the attack.

Karim was arrested from Rojhan, where investigators also picked up important clues regarding the case, police said.

Earlier this week, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tahir Alam Khan had told reporters that the police arrested a suspect who might be a member of the group that attacked the minister. ANI)
