Maoists attack private plant in Bihar, kidnap security guards

September 2nd, 2009 PATNA - Suspected Maoist guerrillas in Bihar have kidnapped six security guards working for a private construction company that had not met their extortion demand, police here said Wednesday. The incident took place late Tuesday when a group of armed guerrillas attacked the office of Subhash Projects & Marketing Ltd (SPML), a private road construction firm in Jamui district.

August 26th, 2009 GAYA - Maoists blew up two mobile towers in Bihar's Gaya district as the 48-hour shutdown in five states called by them ended on Tuesday night. According to sources, around 400 Maoists detonated dynamites to blow up the towers at Guraru and at Gurua in Gaya.

August 25th, 2009 SUNDARGARH - Maoists blew up a railway station and abducted three railway employees in Orissa's Sundargarh district on Tuesday morning. According to the police, about 20 left-wing ultras blew up Roxy railway station, located in a remote area under K Bolang police station and triggered the explosion after asking the employees to move out.

August 1st, 2009 LATEHAR - The ultras belonging to the banned Maoists organizations on Saturday set fire to two pay-loaders of the Central Coalfield Limited (CCL) near Tori Railway station in Jharkhand. According to sources about twenty members of Maoist outfit, Jharkhand Prastuti Committee (JPC), attacked the CCL 's coal loading site and set on fire the pay-loaders.

July 5th, 2009 GAYA - Maoist set two buses on fire after hijacking them in Gaya district of Bihar, police said on Sunday. According to reports, Maoists torched the buses as the owner refused to pay them ransom.

June 16th, 2009 GAYA - In a fresh case of Maoist violence in Bihar, rebels triggered dynamite blasts in a government school building at Chakarbandha village in Gaya district on Monday. Two more buildings in the vicinity of the school, housing the village community hall and the village administration office were also damaged in the blast.
