October 5th, 2009 RANCHI - Police here Monday claimed to have arrested a woman Maoist commander in the Jharkhand capital. The woman rebel, whose identity the police did not disclose immediately, was arrested from a colony situated under Sukhdeonagar police station of Ranchi.

June 9th, 2009 RAIPUR - Nine Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured in a landmine blast triggered by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Tuesday. "The blast occurred when the police truck also carrying ration goods for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was attacked by naxalites near the Bijapur valley which is 450 kilometers from the state headquarters," said Ankit Garg, Superintendent of Police.

Over 20 members of the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) raided Lawagarh village in Latehar Monday and abducted six people, who are relatives of two commanders of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), a police official said.

When the five cops were returning to the Bundu police station, rebels belonging to the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) detonated a landmine near a bridge situated under the Bundu block, around 70 km from here.
