September 24th, 2009 BHOPAL - Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged the centre to include the state among those where the Basmati rice variety is grown, officials said here Thursday. In a letter written to union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar Wednesday, Chouhan requested him to direct the Export Development Authority to include Madhya Pradesh in the areas producing Basmati rice.

July 31st, 2009 NEW DELHI - Infrastructure major Jaiprakash Associates Ltd Friday signed an agreement with Assam Mineral Development Corp (AMDC) for setting up a cement plant in the northeastern state. "The total cost for setting up this plant is estimated to be Rs.1,050 crore," the company said in statement.

February 13th, 2009 NEW DELHI - The country's leading power producer NTPC Ltd Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nuclear Power Corp of India Ltd (NPCIL) to jointly produce nuclear power plants. As per the proposal, the power majors will set up a joint venture company in which NPCIL will hold 51 percent stake and NTPC will own the rest, a government statement said.
