July 25th, 2009 MYSORE - The Sessions Court in Mysore on Saturday denied bail to the Sriram Sene Chief Pramod Mutalik and sent him to judicial custody till July 28 for allegedly making inflammatory speech at Kyathamaranahalli, a Mysore suburb, in April this year. Mutalik, who had visited Kyathamaranahalli after the communal clashes in April, had allegedly addressed a gathering of local residents in the locality.

June 29th, 2009 BARAMULLA - Curfew was imposed in Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday following clashes between residents of the area and the police. Reports said that at least ten people were injured, one critically, in the clashes that broke out after residents accused the police of eve-teasing a woman.

March 26th, 2009 LUCKNOW - A criminal case was filed against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and his supporters in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly barging into a police station and creating a ruckus, police said Thursday. On Tuesday over 100 BJP workers entered Patwai police station and disrupted official work.

March 12th, 2009 PATNA - Two men were shot dead and 28 injured in clashes in Bihar's Chhapra district over the manner in which Holi was being celebrated, police said Thursday.
