Leopard attacks four in Uttar Pradesh

September 30th, 2009 MUMBAI - Rangers of Borivali National Park near Mumbai rescued a leopard that had entered a residential area of Kandivili on Wednesday. The leopard reportedly entered the residential area during the early morning, and it reportedly mauled a local before being tranquillised and captured by the wildlife officials.

September 30th, 2009 LUCKNOW - In yet another case of wild animals attacking humans, a leopard killed a five-year-old boy and mauled three others in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, forest officials said Wednesday. The leopard, which is still to be trapped, strayed into Bahraich district's Kanda village Tuesday and attacked the locals, killing Mahesh, the five-year-old boy, they added.

August 16th, 2009 LUCKNOW - A four-year-old boy was dragged into a forest and killed by a leopard in Behraich district of Uttar Pradesh and his body was found Sunday, an official said. January 2nd, 2009 BHOPAL - Villagers in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh killed a leopard, which attacked and injured at least six people including a woman in the past few days, officials said Saturday. 'The incident occurred Friday in Tarned village, six km from Dhar district headquarters, where the villagers attacked the wild cat with sticks and other weapons after it attacked and injured two persons critically,' said Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Raghvendra Shrivastava.
