A local court in Bihar has awarded 10 year rigorous imprisonment to three cops among six for raping a schoolgirl, court officials said today.

Officials said a local court in Jehanabad awarded 10 year rigorous imprisonment to six accused, including three policemen, yesterday in a case related to rape of a schoolgirl in 2007.

The court headed by additional district judge Vinod Prasad Sinha also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 to all the accused persons.

According to the police, some local youths had kidnapped and raped Chandani, a resident of Tehta in Jehanabad district, while she was on way to school.

Later, the policemen who recovered the victim from the possession of the criminals also gang-raped her.
