Police: Bomb explodes at Baghdad market, kills 4

BAGHDAD — An Iraqi police official says a bomb exploded at a Baghdad fruit and vegetable market, killing four people and wounding 14.

The official says the blast occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Monday at the Rasheed market in Baghdad’s southern district of Dora. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information to the media.

The same market was the scene of a car bombing last month that killed 15 people and wounded nearly 50.

Sectarian tensions remain high in Dora, which is a mostly Sunni neighborhood with some Shiite enclaves.
