August 15th, 2009 KABUL - A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle Saturday near the NATO military headquarters in Kabul, killing three Afghans and wounding more than 60 people, a defence ministry spokesman said. The blast occurred near the gate of the International Security Assistance Force in the neighbourhood where the presidential palace and US embassy are also located.

July 20th, 2009 KABUL - Eleven civilians including a woman and a child were killed in a bomb blast in southwestern Afghanistan, while NATO-led German forces killed three civilians after mistaking them for Taliban militants in the northern region, officials said Monday. The blast occurred in Sabari district of the south-eastern province of Khost when a bus en route to the provincial capital of the same name was struck by a roadside bomb, police chief Abdul Qayoom Baqizoy said.
