India take big lead in third Test

April 5th, 2009 WELLINGTON - Gautaum Gambhir made an unbeaten 151 taking India to 269 for three in the second innings and extending the lead to 451 against New Zealand on the third day of the third cricket Test here Sunday. V.V.S. Laxman was batting on the other end at 29 after Rahul Dravid scored a patient 60 in the morning at the Basin Reserve.

April 5th, 2009 WELLINGTON - A fine century by Gautam Gambhir helped India make 349 for five in their second innings and take a huge 531-run lead against New Zealand on the third day of the third and the final cricket Test here Sunday. At close of play, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was batting on 16 and Yuvraj Singh on 15 after Gambhir scored an aggressive 167.

Dhoni, who is having a sore back, skipped the second Test at Napier which ended in a draw.
