Hizbul militant killed in Jammu and Kashmir shootout

October 6th, 2009 JAMMU - A top leader of the Hizbul Mujahideen was killed early Tuesday when security forces engaged militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, police said. Though Mohammed Osama had been gunned down, three to four militants were still hiding.

August 17th, 2009 JAMMU - A commander of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, Altaf Hussain, was killed in a shootout with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district Monday morning, police said. A police spokesman said that security forces, after receiving a tip-off, raided the militant's hideout in Mahore area.

August 5th, 2009 JAMMU - A section commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit was killed in a gunbattle with soldiers in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday morning, an official said. The soldiers laid a cordon around Sarwal forest, about 180 km northesst of here, following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
