Haryana CM’s helicopter makes emergency landing in Hisar

September 15th, 2009 MUMBAI - A Mumbai to Bangalore Kingfisher Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Mumbai Airport soon after take-off after its landing gear malfunctioned on Tuesday. Preliminary reports quoting sources said that Kingfisher Flight IT 103, which was carrying 98 passengers headed for Bangalore reported a gear malfunction soon after take off to Air Traffic Control (ATC).

September 9th, 2009 HISAR - A helicopter carrying Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda made an unscheduled landing here Wednesday due to bad weather ahead. District administration officials said that the helicopter carrying Hooda, who was flying from New Delhi to Muktsar in Punjab, landed in this Haryana city, 300 km from state capital Chandigarh, Wednesday afternoon.

September 1st, 2009 HYDERABAD - A tragedy was averted after a Delhi-bound Indigo Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing here on Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock. The plane had to made the landing after smoke was noticed coming out of the aircraft.

August 30th, 2009 CHANDIGARH - A helicopter, carrying Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, was forced to make an emergency landing in Punjab's Ferozepur district on Sunday after developing a suspected technical snag. Chief Minister's media advisor Harcharan Bains said the helicopter, Bell 230, was chartered by Punjab Government, and that pilots experienced some difficulty just before the scheduled landing in Jalalabad.

August 4th, 2009 NEW DELHI - A Vadodara-bound Jet Airways plane made an emergency landing here on Tuesday after it developed some technical snag. The airplane 9W 2601, which took off at 5.30 p.m.

May 16th, 2009 CHANDIGARH - The Congress party is leading in nine of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana two hours after the counting for the parliamentary elections began Saturday. April 29th, 2009 CHANDIGARH - The northern states of Punjab and Haryana too saw the mercury soar way above normal with the city of Hisar being the hottest at 45.4 degrees Celsius, officials said. The temperature recorded at most places was above the 40-degree mark and Hisar in Haryana saw the mercury rise five degrees above normal, a weather official said here.

'Leaders like Bhajan Lal (former Haryana chief minister) do not have any right to win the elections.

April 16th, 2009 GUWAHATI - Two Assam ministers had a miraculous escape Thursday as the helicopter in which they were travelling for election campaigning made an emergency landing at the Guwahati airport following a major technical snag. Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain, along with Assam Youth Congress president Pijush Hazarika, were returning to Guwahati after addressing an election meeting in Nagaon district of eastern Assam when the four-seater helicopter developed a snag mid-air.

April 11th, 2009 BHOPAL - Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had a narrow escape Saturday as the helicopter he was travelling in had to make an emergency landing after developing a technical snag, an official said. The chief minister was on his way to Rampur village in the state's Satna district to address an election meeting for Ganesh Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Satna constituency, when the chopper developed a snag, Satna district collector Sukhbeer Singh told IANS over telephone.

April 11th, 2009 CHANDIGARH - Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal will contest the general elections from Hisar parliamentary constituency on a Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) ticket. Lal, the nine-time MLA and two-time MP, would contest against Congress' Jai Prakash and Indian National Lok Dal's (INLD) Sampat Singh.
