Harper to replace Doctrove in Wellington Test

April 7th, 2009 WELLINGTON -Light showers stopped play as India pushed for victory in the third and final cricket Test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve here Tuesday. New Zealand were 281 for 8, chasing an improbable 617 runs to win in their second innings when play was stopped 30 minutes after lunch.

January 28th, 2009 KARACHI - Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt will vehemently resist any move to once again reverse the result of the infamous Oval Test against England during the International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting in Perth Saturday. A senior PCB official told IANS Thursday that Butt has gone to Australia with legal opinions taken from a team of lawyers on The Oval Test and will request the ICC not to change the match result again.

January 13th, 2009 WELLINGTON - New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has agreed to add an extra Test in the home series against India in March-April. The additional Test will be held in Napier as the itinerary for the series was rescheduled.

December 27th, 2008 MELBOURNE - Umpires Aleem Dar and Billy Doctrove came under the scanner after ruling Australian off-spinner Nathan Hauritz out on the second day of the second Test against South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Hauritz was given his marching orders, even though no apparent appeal was made by the South Africans after a low edge from the Australian went to Proteas captain Graeme Smith at slip Friday.
