Bhojpur police superintendent Sunil Kumar said a crude bomb exploded in the advocates chamber in the district court premises in Ara, about 60 km from the state capital, killing a lawyer and one more person.

April 5th, 2009 RANCHI - Three policemen were killed and six others were injured when a minibus carrying them dashed against a tree in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand Sunday, the police said. According to the police, around 20 policemen were in the minibus, when the vehicle's driver lost control and hit a tree near Jora flyover in the district, around 170 km from Ranchi, Sunday afternoon.

December 25th, 2008 PATNA - More policemen were killed than Maoist rebels in over 100 gun battles in Bihar in the last five years, police officers said here Friday. A police officer in the state home department said that in the last five years, there had been 130 shoot-outs in Bihar between the police and the activists of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), in which 76 policemen and 63 rebels were killed.

The incident occurred Monday midnight in the UPSIDC Industrial area near Coca-Cola plant in the city when a group of 50 men from Dehra village attacked eight people from Bajehra, who were going to attend their duties at the Coca Cola factory, the police said.
