Grandma sings for 48 hours to break Guinness record

October 10th, 2009 WASHINGTON - A blind South African man has earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records by driving a car at 200 miles per hour. South Africa's News24 reports that Durbanville native, Hein Wagner, piloted a high performance Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series to the amazing speed on a closed runway at Upington International Airport.

October 6th, 2009 LONDON - Surfers in South Africa have laid claims to setting a new world record for the most boarders riding a single wave. The current Guinness World Record of 100 surfers is said to have been broken by at least 103 surfers surfing a wave at the Earthwave beach festival in Muizenberg, Cape Town, South Africa.

May 28th, 2009 LONDON - More than 3,000 students from Swansea University in Wales, UK, will paint themselves blue, and don white gnome hats in a bid to set a new world record by staging the largest gathering of Smurfs. And helping them do so is a company called Jokers' Masquerade, which has supplied the students with over 3000 blue gnome costumes for the gathering, which takes place at the Oceana nightclub at 10pm on June 8.

May 14th, 2009 NEW DELHI - A group of US school students have made a new world record by drumming for 27 hours and 23 seconds. Students at Rock Hill High School in South Carolina began the drum roll at 5pm on May 8 and continued to play until around 8pm the next day.
