Goa University officials sitting on sexual harassment complaint

July 22nd, 2009 NEW DELHI - Defence Minister A K Antony today informed the Rajya Sabha that in the last five years 11 cases of sexual harassment have been reported in the armed forces. Antony said: "During the last five years, 11 cases relating to sexual harassment have been reported in the armed forces." He said that necessary investigations have been instituted in all these cases and punishments have been awarded wherever charges have been proved.

July 3rd, 2009 NEW DELHI - The Union Government has decided to bring cases of sexual harassment of domestic helps within the scope of proposed law to prevent exploitation of woman at work places. Replying to a question in Lok Sabha today, Union Minister for Woman and Child Development Krishna Tirath said the proposed law would also deal with the incidents against Dalit women who are brought to cities to work as domestic help.
