Four killed, 35 injured in Iraq blast

October 9th, 2009 PESHAWAR - At least six people were killed and 30 others grievously injured in a powerful bomb blast that rocked Peshawar on Friday noon. The blast occurred in Khyber Bazaar near the North West Frontier Province assembly building, sources said.

September 10th, 2009 BAGHDAD - At least 29 people were killed and 81 injured in attacks that shook different parts of Iraq Thursday, security sources said. In northern Iraq, 25 people died 43 were injured in a truck bombing in eastern Mosul.

September 9th, 2009 BAGHDAD - At least 15 people, including three policemen, were killed and nine injured in separate bomb attacks in Iraq Wednesday, according to witnesses and security sources. Seven people were killed and two injured, from the same family, when a car bomb went off in Kirkuk, witnesses said.

September 8th, 2009 BAGHDAD - Five policemen, including a high-ranking officer, were killed Tuesday when an explosive device went off targeting their patrol in the northern city of Kirkuk, the police said. Police sources named the officer as Ziyad al-Bayati, from Amerly district in Kirkuk, which lies 250 km north of Baghdad.

July 15th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least four people were killed Wednesday in an explosion at a fireworks factory in eastern Pakistan, TV reports said. The incident occurred in Muridke city of Punjab province.

July 13th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least 15 people including seven children were killed and several others injured in a powerful bomb blast in Mian Channu region of Punjab province in Pakistan on Monday. According to sources, the blast occurred in a house where several children had gathered for religious education.

July 2nd, 2009 RAWALPINDI - Six people were killed and 25 injured in a suicide bomb attack that ripped through a crowded marked in Pakistan's Rawalpindi city, media reports said. Six people were killed in the blast and at least 25 people were critically injured in the blast that took place in Chauhar Chowk of Rawalpindi, Geo News reported According to preliminary reports, a motorist rammed into a bus parked near a petrol pump and blew himself up, injuring the passengers.

July 2nd, 2009 RAWALPINDI - At least six persons were killed and over 15 injured in a suicide bomb attack here on Thursday. The attack which took place in the Chur Chowk area of the city was earlier referred to as a bomb blast, but later senior police officials confirmed that it was a suicide attack.

June 30th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Four people were killed and three injured Tuesday in a blast at a petrol pump in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, TV reports said. The blast occurred in a car parked at a petrol pump near the Quetta-Karachi Highway, Geo TV said citing police officials.

June 14th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least eight people were killed and 24 injured in a blast Sunday in Pakistan's militancy-hit North West Frontier Province, Geo TV reported. The blast in Tijarat Ganj Market area of Dera Ismail Khan was of high intensity and it damaged a number of shops besides vehicles parked near the blast site, the report said, citing police sources.

May 16th, 2009 PESHAWAR - At least ten persons including women and children were killed and twenty others were injured in a powerful car bomb blast in Peshawar on Saturday. The blast occurred on the busy Circular Road in the densely populated Berisco area at Kashkal.

May 6th, 2009 BAGHDAD - At least 11 people were killed and 37 injured in a truck bomb blast at a wholesale market here Wednesday, the interior ministry said. A booby-trapped pick-up truck exploded at around 7.00 a.m.

April 8th, 2009 BAGHDAD - Seven people were killed and 23 others injured Wednesday in a bomb explosion near a shrine in Iraq's Shia holy district of Kadhmiyah, an official said. The bomb exploded in a crowded area near the Shareif al-Radhi shrine in Kadhmiyah district, north of the Iraqi capital, an interior ministry official said requesting anonymity.

April 6th, 2009 BAGHDAD - At least 10 people were killed Monday and 45 injured as four bombs rocked separate locations here, television reports said. Iraq's al-Iraqia channel said four were killed and 15 were injured in a blast in the bustling al-Alawi commercial district in central Baghdad.

January 11th, 2009 BAGHDAD - At least seven people were killed and about a dozen injured Monday in two separate blasts in downtown Baghdad, the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency reported, citing police sources. Four people were killed and six injured in the Iraqi capital when a suicide bomber blew himself up earlier Monday.
