October 10th, 2009 LAHORE - Many police stations in Lahore are accepting bribes to let prostitution rackets and drug dealers operate freely, an inside report has revealed. According to a departmental report prepared on the direction of Lahore CCPO, prostitution is at its peak in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Qila Gujjar Singh, Gawalmandi, Naulakha and Gulberg police stations.

September 17th, 2009 JAMMU - Two Border Security Force (BSF) men were injured in firing by Pakistani troops that continued Friday, military sources said. The first burst of firing took place Thursday evening and it was directed at the Nikowal border post, about 30 km west of Jammu.

August 7th, 2009 LAHORE - Lahore Commissioner Khusro Pervez has blamed India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for the Punjab unrest. The Daily Times quoted Pervez, as saying that the recent anti-Christian riots in Gojra, Sheikhupura and the attack on the Rescue 15 building in Lahore were orchestrated by the RAW.

May 28th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack in Lahore Wednesday that killed at least 23 people, a US-based Islamic militant monitoring group has said. The SITE Intelligence Group said that the Tehreek-e-Taliban militants made the claim in a statement posted on Turkish jihadist websites, Geo TV reported Thursday.

March 18th, 2009 LAHORE - The Lahore police has been widely criticized for its incompetence to retaliate during the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, has now claimed that it fired 423 bullets during the shootout, but none of them hit the attackers. According to a report submitted by the police officials, 17 policemen through 21 weapons fired 423 bullets at the assailants, but all escaped unhurt.
