September 1st, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who recently visited Saudi Arabia, has categorically denied meeting former President Pervez Musharraf. There were reports that Musharraf was in Saudi Arabia and Malik had met him there.

August 27th, 2009 LONDON - Pakistan and Britain have agreed to facilitate the return of thousands of Pakistanis who are detained or living illegally in the United Kingdom. Interacting with media persons after a meeting with British Home Secretary Allan Johnson here, Pakistan Interior Advisor Rehman Malik said both countries have reached an accord to facilitate the return of the illegal migrants.

August 23rd, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Interior Advisor Rehman Malik has said that the Taliban have killed some of the family members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud as revenge for his death in a US drone strike earlier this month. "The Taliban insurgents have killed Baitullah Mehsud's father-in-law and some other people on suspicion of their involvement in the killing of their former chief," The News quoted Malik, as saying.

August 22nd, 2009 LONDON - Two of the ten Pakistani students who were detained during counter-terrorism raids in Manchester and Liverpool earlier this year have flown back home, discontinuing their fight against deportation. Abdul Wahab Khan, 26, and Shoaib Khan, 27 were among ten Pakistanis who were detained in April on national security grounds after officials claimed that they have foiled a major bombing plot by Al-Qaeda.

July 7th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - While the former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf had said that he would use his 'influence' to ensure that the Pakistani family detained in Saudi Arabia on charges of drug trafficking is released soon, advisor on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik, now, has also jumped into the issue claiming that he had written a letter to the Saudi government following which the family is being released. Talking to a private television channel, Malik said the family will be released soon as the real culprits have been arrested and have confessed their crime.

July 7th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Prime Minister's advisor on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik has said that the major Taliban leadership has been wiped out from Swat. Talking to media persons here, Malik claimed that the military offensive being carried out in the North West Frontier Province's (NWFP) Swat and Malakand Divisions have been successful with top commanders of the Taliban killed.

July 4th, 2009 LAHORE - Former Pakistan President General (r) Pervez Musharraf assured Pakistani family recently that he would use his influence with the Saudi Arabian government to get them released. According to the Daily Times, the family was detained after Saudi customs officials found heroin concealed in the slippers of their luggage.

June 22nd, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik has asked the Taliban to leave the country, as Pakistan's military's offensive would not stop until every insurgent is eliminated from the nation's soil. The Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying, that Pakistan had long said 'no' to the Taliban, and now they must leave Pakistan, adding that the Taliban were neither Muslims nor Pakistanis.

June 16th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - The Taliban is buying children for 500,000 to 2.5 million rupees to convert them into suicide bombers, and execute barbarous terrorist activities, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik has revealed. Speaking at an award distribution ceremony, Malik said Pakistan is determined to continue the war against terrorism till the Taliban are flushed out of the country.

The documents stated that New Delhi was providing tactical support and was funding and training Pakistani terror groups.

The Pakistan Prime Minister's Advisor on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik told Senate members that New Delhi is backing the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to cause disturbance and ignite insurgency in the region.

January 14th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan will act on the information provided by India on the Mumbai terror attack, a key aide to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Thursday, adding action has been taken against Jamaat-ud-Daawa (JuD) with five camps being closed down. Addressing a press conference, Rehman Malik said investigations will take place transparently but at the same time 'we will be needing more information'.
