Reports: blast at Mallorca police barracks kills 2

MADRID — Spanish officials are reporting an explosion outside a police barracks on the resort island Mallorca.

El Pais newspaper says two Civil Guard officers were killed and several people were injured by Thursday’s blast.

A Balearic Island regional government spokesman gave no details about the explosion.

On Wednesday a car-bomb attack at a Civil Guard barracks on mainland Spain left some 60 people injured. That attack has been blamed on the armed Basque separatist group ETA.
