Engineering professor commits suicide in Chandigarh

October 20th, 2009 CHANDIGARH - Chandigarh, already one of the greenest cities of the country, has brought around 3.73 hectares of more area under green cover by planting nearly 9,105 saplings during September, officials said here Tuesday. In an attempt to strengthen the drive to make Chandigarh more green, we had distributed 32,840 saplings free of cost to be planted on public land in the last few months.

October 7th, 2009 BHOPAL - A 60-year-old man Wednesday committed suicide after killing his wife and two children at their house in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh, police said. Raghuraj Singh, who was a contractor with the Municipal Corporation, shot dead his 55-year-old wife Guddan, 30-year-old son Sharad and 20-year-old daughter Sweety and later committed suicide by hanging himself in Bahodapur locality of Gwalior.

September 6th, 2009 NEW DELHI - A 26-year-old Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling in his house in Narela of northwest Delhi, police said. The body of Om Prakash was found hanging from the ceiling in his room by his father Manchand Sunday morning.
