NEW DELHI - The special cell of Delhi police has arrested four people, allegedly running a racket of preparing fake foreign visas and work permits.

“Three accused - Nand Kishore, Dhruv Kumar and Mohammad Hussain - were arrested from New Friends Colony area Thursday on the basis of information from intelligence agencies. On their instance, another member of the gang, Mohammad Qaseem Sheikh was also arrested,” a senior police official said.

A total of 111 tampered passports, five fake visas, fake medical papers, fake stamps of various foreign offices, other incriminating documents, computers and peripherals used in making the fake documents were recovered from their office and residence.

According to police, the arrested gang members revealed during interrogation that they had their office in Shivalik area of south Delhi and Mohammad Hussain was their front man. They used to charge Rs.10,000 as initial payment from applicants and take the passport.

“After few days, they would prepare a fake contract and a fake work permit of foreign country like Australia and Canada. They would also affix fake visas on the passport of their clients. After taking a hefty payment, they would change their number as well as their office and disappear,” the officer said.

“The gang used to identify their targets through their networks in other states and also by advertising in newspapers. Initially the gang charged a small fee to gain the confidence of the customer and completing the formalities, pasted fake visas on the passports charging from Rs.260,000 to Rs.350,000 per visa from their clients,” the officer said.
