Slain Oregon pregnant woman fought with killer

PORTLAND, Ore. — Court documents in Oregon say a woman whose unborn son was cut from her body died following a violent struggle.

Washington County Sheriff’s Detective Murray Rau wrote in an affidavit released Monday that Heather Snively had bite marks on the back of her elbow. He said the woman accused of attacking her, Korena Roberts, had a five-inch scratch on the left side of her neck and visible injuries on her arms.

The detective wrote that the scene was “very bloody” and evidence indicated a violent struggle.

Roberts, 27, has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and other charges.

The 21-year-old Snively was found dead June 5 in the crawl space at the house Roberts and her boyfriend rented.

Snively’s baby son was declared dead at a hospital.
