Charges dropped in death of Ohio identical twin

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A prosecutor has dropped charges against an Ohio teenager accused of fatally shooting his identical twin.

Franklin County prosecutor Ron O’Brien said Thursday that tests have cast doubt on the key piece of evidence.

He says that a print of defendant Derris Lewis’ palm found in the bedroom where the January 2008 shooting happened was not made with blood after all.

Lewis had previously shared the bedroom at their mother’s home with his twin, Dennis, who was 17 when he was killed. Attorneys had argued it was natural that his print would be in the room.
