CBI arrests NCP MP Padamsinh Patil (Second Lead)

September 23rd, 2009 MUMBAI - The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has retained all its state ministers in the first list of 80 candidates it released Wednesday for the Oct 13 Maharashtra assembly elections. Contesting in alliance with the Congress, the NCP is fighting on 114 seats and the Congress on 174 in the 288-member assembly.

August 20th, 2009 MUMBAI - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday submitted a 5000-page chargesheet, in which it named suspended Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Padamsinh Patil as the prime accused and conspirator in the 2006 murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimabalkar. "The charge sheet, filed in a Panvel court, includes the statements of 181 witnesses and over 200 documents alleging the involvement of Patil and others in the crime," said P Kandaswamy, the head of CBI's Mumbai Zone.

June 19th, 2009 MUMBAI - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition as well as incriminating documents from two houses owned by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Padamsinh Patil, accused of murdering his cousin and his driver. A CBI team supervised by Western Region Joint Director Rishi Raj Singh raided two apartments owned by Patil in Colaba in south Mumbai late Thursday, a CBI source said.
