October 8th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A man was robbed of Rs.3 lakh by two criminals in Ghaziabad, police said Thursday. According to police, Om Prakash, a resident of Pilkhuwa, bought a plot in the city and was to pay Rs.3 lakh to the land owner Thursday.

September 23rd, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A man shot dead his girlfriend in a park here Wednesday before turning the gun on himself, police said. The incident occurred around 10 a.m.

September 14th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - Two armed masked men robbed a cooperative bank of over Rs.1.7 lakh here Monday, police said. The heist occurred Monday in Govindpuri locality under the Modinagar police station of Ghaziabad.

September 12th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - Rs.9.5 lakh (Rs.950,000) was stolen here Saturday from the car of a steel trader who is the son of a former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator, police said. The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in Loha Mandi under Kavi Nagar police station of Ghaziabad.

September 8th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - In a daylight robbery an armed man snatched a bag containing Rs.5 lakh from a trader here Tuesday, police said. Mohan Lal, a grain trader was on his way on a scooter from his Yamuna Vihar residence in Delhi to his office in Jawahar Nagar in Loni area of Ghaziabad and was carrying Rs.5 lakhs cash in a bag, police said.

September 8th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A total of 53 people were arrested in Ghaziabad Tuesday for their alleged involvement in large-scale violence and rioting Sunday on the National Highway-24. Police had Sunday night registered an FIR against 59 named and 1200 unidentified people for rioting and causing damage to government and private vehicles on NH-24.

July 6th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A 12-year-old boy was crushed to death by a tractor trolley here Monday, officials said. Following the accident, angry residents vandalised a police post and damaged vehicles, alleging that the police had helped the tractor driver to escape.

April 5th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A realtor wanted in several cases of fraud was arrested here Sunday for carrying out an illegal construction, the police said. Moti Goel was wanted for illegal constructions in the Vasundhara, Vaishali, Surya Nagar, Chanden Nagar and Rampuri areas of Ghaziabad.

March 1st, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A businessman was robbed of Rs.3 lakh (Rs.300,000) by unidentified thieves in the busy Arjun Nagar area of Ghaziabad Saturday, police said. According to the police, Mayank Jain, an iron trader, went to meet his relative on a second-floor office in Arjun Nagar locality with his mother and sister, leaving the cash in his car.

January 27th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A man wanted in 45 criminal cases, mostly related to drug trafficking, was arrested by the Ghaziabad police from Delhi, officials said Wednesday. Kallan, a resident of Main Bazar Kaila Bhatta in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, heads a five-member gang involved in drug trafficking.
