4th victim from Mexico fire arrives in Calif.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A fourth young burn victim from a deadly Mexican day care center fire has arrived in California for treatment.

Mexican Consul General Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez says a 3-year-old boy with burns over 80 percent of his body arrived Tuesday night at Shriners Hospitals for Children-Northern California in Sacramento.

He joins three other toddlers being treated in Sacramento for serious burns they suffered in last week’s fire in Hermosillo. It killed 44 children, and dozens are hospitalized in Mexico.

Sacramento Shriners’ assistant chief of burns, Dr. Tina Palmieri, says the hospital is expecting several more patients from Mexico. Others may go to a Shriners burn center in Cincinnati.
