I hope Mr. Sibel was not expecting the animal to warn him before the attack, secondly, i guess he was on foot which is not allowed in every park, the Tanzanian authorities are generally very strict on this issue as they also warn against getting out of your 4×4 whilst in the game park.
I wish him a speedy recovery and at the same time request all other safari travelers to take precaution while in the game parks.

Filthy rich folks often find bizarre ways to try to
get themselves killed. This is an almost Darwin Award for 2009. I’d love to see the video of him getting the living day light kicked out of him. I love you, elephant!
