BEML all set to roll out indigenous low cost coaches for metro railwaysJuly 10th, 2009 BANGALORE - The Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) is all set to manufacture indigenously designed low-cost metro railway coaches for Mass Rapid Transport Systems (MRTS) in the cities. Talking to reporters here on Thursday, V R S Natarajan, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML said, " The BEML has furnished a turnkey proposal to the central government to facilitate the execution of supplying the low-cost rakes to the two and three tier cities where the metro railway network is envisaged."
"Each of the rakes is estimated to cost rupees six crores," he added.
