Authorities: Man holding hostages in Kansas home

DOVER, Kan. — Authorities say a suspect in a possible Colorado homicide is holding hostages at a home in eastern Kansas.

Geary County Undersheriff Carlos Roman says authorities pursued Jesse Dennis Dimmick in a stolen vehicle Saturday morning. Dimmick then abandoned that vehicle and went into a home in Dover, where he was holding hostages.

According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department, it was unclear how many hostages there were.

Geary County Sheriff Jim Jensen told KJCK-AM that there were no immediate reports of injuries.

Authorities have been looking for Dimmick because he may be connected to a possible homicide in Aurora, Colo.

On Friday, Geary County deputies chased Dimmick in another stolen vehicle. During that pursuit, Dimmick wrecked the vehicle and fled.
