The partnership will lead to attracting investments to the tune of Rs.8,500 crore in the state, officials said.

September 3rd, 2009 NEW DELHI - German premier car maker Audi Thursday announced the launch of its latest sports utility vehicle (SUV) Audi Q7, which will be available with three engine variants. The three variants of the car, which will be available in 11 colours, will cost Rs.55.2 lakh, Rs.53.4 lakh and Rs.29.9 lakh in showrooms in Maharashtra.

July 18th, 2009 KOCHI - The country's longest railway bridge, at 4.62 km, is fast nearing completion and will be opened in November, an official said here Saturday. The bridge, to connect the International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) at Vallarpadam with Edapally near here, has been constructed in the Kochi backwaters.

March 30th, 2009 THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Kochi, Kerala's commercial hub, was on alert after intelligence reports indicated that a terror gang was possibly heading towards the city, a police official said Monday. Inspector General of Police Arun Kumar Sinha, however, denied media reports that it was a gang of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and that they had arrived on the coast near Shertallai, near Alappuzha, and were heading towards Kochi.

March 14th, 2009 KOCHI - London-based engineering and consultancy major Mott MacDonald Friday opened its new design centre in Kochi, Kerala. Mott MacDonald director (oil and gas global operations) Sam Mathew said the company was committed to expanding its business in India and Kochi would become a hub for the firm's oil, gas and petrochemical storage and distribution business.

March 5th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Despite the auto industry facing the brunt of a slowing economy, the high-end segment seems to have weathered the storm with luxury carmaker Audi reporting a considerable increase in their monthly sales for the second consecutive month. The German car manufacturer, posted a year-on-year increase of about 95 percent selling, 113 vehicles in February against 58 cars in the corresponding month last year.

February 26th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel will Thursday inaugurate a new departure terminal at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here which will be able to handle all outbound domestic passengers, an official said. However, the terminal, 1D, set up at an investment of Rs.5 billion (Rs.500 crore), will be opened for passengers only by March-end, said the official of the Delhi International Airport Ltd, which runs the IGI Airport.
