October 11th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Secretary General Lalit Bhanot has said that the visiting CGF delegations was satisfied with the sports area presentation. Addressing reporters after the executive meeting here on Saturday, Bhanot said: "They were not only satisfied, but they praised the presentation because it is not just we are on time but we are ahead of schedule as far as the sports area is concerned." Delegates from all the 71 member nations of the CGF are presently in New Delhi ahead of the CGF General Assembly on October 12.

March 17th, 2009 NEW DELHI - Sport Minister M.S Gill Monday said security concerns raised by Commonwealth Games officials were 'hypothetical' and that there need not be any apprehensions over the safety and security during the 2010 New Delhi Games. Gill was reacting to reports in Australian media quoting Australian Commonwealth Games Association CEO Perry Crosswhite as saying that a security assessment one month before the Games would be crucial in deciding the fate of the event.

January 16th, 2009 NEW DELHI - The Indian Olympic Association Saturday decided to postpone the 34th National Games, scheduled to be held in three Jharkhand cities Feb 15-28, till June due to delay in construction of infrastructure. The IOA steering committee reviewed the state's preparations for the Games to be held in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad and concluded that the state was not ready to host the tournament as infrastructure was not in place.

December 29th, 2008 BANGKOK - Laos, which will host the South-East Asia (SEA) Games in November, has received assurances that the Chinese-constructed National Stadium will be completed by March, a Lao foreign ministry spokesman said Tuesday. 'The Chinese contractors have assured us that the stadium will be completed by March,' said the ministry's spokesman Yong Chanthlangsy.
