3 killed in suspected street racing crash in Fla.

HOLLY HILL, Fla. — Police in coastal Florida say three people were killed in what they believe was a street racing crash.

Volusia County authorities say a red sports car was seen speeding with another car Thursday night when the red car lost control in Holly Hill, about four miles north of Daytona Beach. The red car crashed into a concrete wall along a sidewalk.

Holly Hill Police Chief Mark Barker says the car was completely split in half and that speed was likely a factor in the crash. Emergency personnel say a male and two females inside the car were killed instantly. The driver of the other car took off.

No further information was immediately released.
