KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Calif. — Three hikers reported missing in Kings Canyon National Park in central California have been found safe.

Park officials say San Bernardino Police Officer Lanier Rogers and brothers Jordan Zeman and Jake Zeman were rescued Thursday afternoon after being spotted by the park’s helicopter earlier in the day.

The hikers were reported missing Monday night by their families.

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — A police officer from Southern California is among three hikers missing in Kings Canyon National Park near Fresno.

Officials say San Bernardino police Officer Lanier Rogers and brothers Jordan Zeman and Jake Zeman were reported missing Monday night by their families.

Officials say the men began their six-day, 65-mile hike at the Road’s End trail on Oct. 7 and planned to hike to elevations as high as 14,000 feet. They were scheduled to return to their vehicles Monday afternoon.

Heavy rain and snow from a fall storm has hampered the search.
