18 militants enter Lahore to carry out attack on important locations

August 7th, 2009 LAHORE - Lahore Commissioner Khusro Pervez has blamed India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for the Punjab unrest. The Daily Times quoted Pervez, as saying that the recent anti-Christian riots in Gojra, Sheikhupura and the attack on the Rescue 15 building in Lahore were orchestrated by the RAW.

June 20th, 2009 LAHORE - The Lahore Commissioner, Khusro Pervaiz, has warned that the militants could target some strategically important buildings in the city. Pervaiz said that the terrorists are on the look out for the right opportunity to carry out terror strikes on the offices of law-enforcement agencies and top hotels located here.

June 19th, 2009 LAHORE - The Taliban has dispatched three suicide bombers to carry out attacks in Islamabad and Lahore, it has been revealed. According to the Daily Times, one of the would-be suicide bombers, who was arrested earlier this month, has disclosed that the Taliban had sent two suicide bombers to Lahore and one to Islamabad to strike at important locations of the two cities.

March 30th, 2009 LAHORE - Tactical units of the Pakistani security forces have cleared portions of a police academy where several assailants were holed up after killing at least 22 recruits and wounding dozens more in an early morning attack, news reports said Monday. The armed group holed up in the training school on the outskirts of the eastern city of Lahore were believed to have taken up to 150 policemen hostage.
