15 killed in Jammu road accident

September 10th, 2009 JAMMU - Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti was injured when her car overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Thursday evening, police here said. Mehbooba was travelling towards Jammu in her bullet-proof Ambassador car after addressing a series of meetings in the Doda district when the vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down into a ditch - four to five feet below the road level.

September 7th, 2009 JAMMU - At least 20 people were killed and 26 others injured when a bus in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into river Chenab in the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir Monday, police said. The bus was on its way to Jammu from Doda when it skidded off the road and rolled down into the Chenab river at Assar, about 150 km north-east of Jammu, around 1 p.m.

August 19th, 2009 ISLAMABAD - At least 16 people, including four children, were killed Wednesday when the passenger bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a gorge in northwest Pakistan, TV reports said. The accident occurred in the Mansehra area.

The accident took place when the driver lost control of the bus while taking a sharp turn on the road.

January 16th, 2009 JAMMU - At least 10 people were killed and 15 injured when a bus rolled down a mountain road in Jammu and Kashmir Saturday, the police said. The bus, going from Thathri to Gandoh carrying with 25 passengers on board, skidded off the road and rolled down over 500 feet near Karra, in Doda district, about 180 km northeast of Jammu.
