14 school kids critically injured in Ghaziabad auto crash

September 21st, 2009 GHAZIABAD - Two people were killed and one was seriously injured on National Highway-24 (NH-24) near Shipra Sun City in Ghaziabad early Monday when a speeding tourist bus hit them, police said. The three - identified as Janak Sharma, 24, Hari Khatri, 27, and Reshmi Thapa, 23 - were returning home after their night shift at a mall in Indirapuram area around 2.30 a.m.

September 11th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A woman and her son were killed when the roof of their house in Loni area here collapsed in heavy rains early Friday, police said. Rachna and Krish died when the roof of the first floor fell, leading to a collapse of the ceiling of their ground floor room about 3 a.m., police said.

July 4th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - At least seven persons, including a driver and a guard, were injured when a Delhi-bound passenger train hit a goods train loaded with petrol near the Ghaziabad railway station on Saturday. A railway official the 310 Ambala Saharanpur Nizammuddin passenger train was on its way to the Nizammuddin railway station in Delhi when the accident took place at around 11.50 p.m.

June 20th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - A man suspected of involvement in the Frontier Mail blast in 1997 committed suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell in Ghaziabad, police said Saturday. The death occurred Friday in the Dasna jail in Ghaziabad where Shakeel was lodged after he was convicted by a Delhi court to 10 years' imprisonment in another terror related case in 1998.

May 29th, 2009 GHAZIABAD/NOIDA - Two students from schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) have topped the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 examination by securing 98.6 percent, school authorities said Friday. Dravyansh Sharma of Delhi Public School (DPS) Ghaziabad and Anusha Gupta of APJ School Noida each secured 98.6 percent in their best five subjects, the school authorities added.

May 20th, 2009 GHAZIABAD - The body of a 35-year-old man with several wound marks was found inside a school campus in Ghaziabad Wednesday morning, police said. The body which is yet to be identified was found in a decomposed state by the staff members in the fields of the Ingraham Training Institute which is located within the Ingraham Institute School campus in Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad.

April 21st, 2009 GHAZIABAD - Three children and three women were severely burnt when a high-tension wire fell on them in the Khoda area of Ghaziabad Monday night, police said Tuesday. According to officials, the children and the women were sitting on the rooftop of their house when the overhead high tension 11,000 volt transmission wire fell on them, severely burning them.
