Java Coding Standards

Traditionally Sun Java coding standards is followed ( ). However the document hasn’t been updated since 1997. So these day most companies follow the Google Style guide which well-maintained and smaller in size:

I recommend companies today follow the Google Style Guide as Coding Standard for Java based code.

IDE’s can be easily configured to format existing code in the adopted coding style, thereby making maintenance easier.
