EBay to sell stake in Skype for $2B, reverses puzzling 2005 acquisition of telecom service
EBay to sell part of telecom service Skype for $2B
NEW YORK — EBay Inc. is trading control of the online telecommunications service Skype for about $2 billion, reversing a 2005 acquisition that many analysts considered a head scratcher from the beginning.

For Mac users availing Skype's beta version have reasons to cheer with the release of Skype 2.8 Gold over the internet. The new version of Skype for Mac will be able to make full or partial screen sharing through video chat , provide a chat notification whenever a contact changes their mood status, and enable you to get wifi connectivity at public hotspots, purchasing it with your Skype account. If you are not a beta user, there's much to explore about the features of this new upgrade, go ahead.
Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, who sold Skype to eBay four years ago for $2.6 billion, wants to buy them back. Yeah, weird may it sound but that is what is buzzing around in the technology world right now. Skype, with each passing phase has evolved appreciatively. Millions of people have loved it and there is no reason why it can not stand alone and survive. On the other hand, I feel its a pity not to have been thought like that yet. New eBay CEO John Donahue has seemed to imply that he is willing to sell the calling service, referring to it as a "great stand-alone business."
