Facebook Surpassed Google as the Number One WebSite for this week’s Traffic
According to Web analysis firm Experian Hitwise, Facebook, the social networking site, ranked number one as the most visited website beating Google for the week ending Mar 13. Facebook registered 7.07 % web traffic last week and the web traffic stands at 7.03% for Google last week. The study only made comparison between domain names facebook.com and Google.com. The number of visitors for Facebook shot up to 185% compared to the same period last year, whereas the number of visitors for Google went up to meager 9% for the same time period. According to the study conducted by analytics company Flurry, Google sold only 135,000 number of Nexus Phones since its launch in the market 74 days back. On the contrary, Motorola sold 1.05 million Droid phone and Apple sold 1 million iPhone during the same timeframe. In the same context, iPad sold 1,52,000 units in the first three days of its online-only sale. The Nexus one is only available on line and through T-mobile.
Speaking at the Digital Landscapes Conference at UCD, Google Europe boss John Herlihy said that smart mobile set is going to outnumber desktop screen in three years to consume information and entertainment. Using cloud computing, every mobile device will be able to run robust application. He further said that the company will do everything primarily keeping in mind about the mobile device. In Japan, most of the research are conducted using Mobile instead of desktop. 

Google is sending a message that if you leave Google and build something cool for the Web, the search engine may buy you out. The acquisitions of Aardvark and AppJet by Google prove that theory. Max Ventillaa and Nathan Stoll founded the social search engine company, Advark. Google paid $25 billion dollar for the acquisition. Max and Nathan used to work at Google's AdSense and Web Applications development and Google News respectively. Now, they are working on vark.com search engine under Google Labs.
The chief executive of Vodafone remarked at the largest mobile network operator's meeting at Barcelona that Google should not be allowed to dominate in the area of smartphones. In order to succeed to be successful in this industry, application developers, search and operating system owners need to new business models that enables the operators to continue to invest in new and faster networks.
