Review: Sony VAIO mini

sony vaioSony VAIO, mini is perhaps the most talked about notebook of the town. Sony has left no stone unturned to promote it like a darling as well as making it as fashionable as it can get. While most of the young gals these days have a fetish for Sony Vaio mini, we thought of giving it a shot and come up with our own results. Intel Z520 Atom CPU with 1.3 GHz clock rate, 2 GB RAM and 60 GB Hard disk with 4200 rpm makes it a powerful stud along with an eye candy look. After Asus' eE PC's supreme success, Sony's Vaio mini is in true sense a netbook that offers quality. So the question is, should you go for it considering the high price tag or is it not worthy enough? Gadgetophilia tried exploring all of that from its neutral best.

In this review you will find:

  • Features ans Specs
  • Dimension and Color
  • Connectivity
  • Input Device

If only you had a little extra screen — like a digital kid brother — that could show an auxiliary program like a Twitter application. Now you do. All hail the mini monitor.

These diminutive displays are quite helpful with everyday computing tasks but take up less desk space than a full-sized monitor you might use as a second screen. And you don't need a special slot in your PC to connect the miniature displays. A basic USB connection handles it.

Height of Stupidity from India’s Tech Ministry, Goes back to OLPC after being Ridiculed for $10 Laptop

olpc_xo_laptop2After having an exciting news of $10 laptops shaping up in India, last month we had an embarrassing disclosure of a device that was anything but a laptop.  For Rs. 500 you would have got a 2GB of storage memory, WiFi connectivity, Ethernet port(s) and USB connectivity and without a screen. It was a sophisticated pen drive of some sort which no body was interested to buy. Anyway, now it seems Indian Govt. has finally realized that its not possible to make a laptop at that cost and chose to embrace OLPC instead. Though the lack of foresight is quite evident as It was MHRD of India that banished the thoughts of OLPC. Being an Indian I can not but think of being ridiculed by the whole world of a failed project, a complete sense of misjudgment and then going back to the point zero again. The good thing? OLPC, the wonderful effort will get a big financial boost as well as recognition which they need at this time.
