worksMicrosoft Works comes with most of the windows based PC's for free. It is a basically an entry level office or home productivity software suite that  includes word processor, spreadsheet and database. Well, this provides an opportunity to create documents, workbook and databases without purchasing or upgrading to Microsoft Office. Most of the users now opt to use the fully featured Microsoft Office that offers Word, Excel, and Access. They usually  uninstall the Microsoft Works. However, if they have the files created in Microsoft Works do not open. This is due to the databases in. wdb file extension created by Microsoft Works. The DB files might contain some important data that needs to be retrieved. There's a third-party program that can rescue the data into database.
