It has been a quarter month since state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launched its third generation(3G) mobile service - first of its kind in India. Initially the services was rolled out across 12 cities across the country. BSNL plans to extend 3G network across 700 cities in India by the end of June, 09. Under the 3G services BSNL would offer services like broadband, mobile TV, video-on-demand, music downloads, video downloads, video tones, instant messaging, online gaming, bill payment etc.  Moreover, now you can upload anything to internet cloud, as 3G is a media to access internet cloud. BSNL broadband is full of surprises. It will never cease to amaze you with the height of irritation, poorest of technologies, almost dead-man-sitting customer care services and most importantly the service for which you pay. Its a known case that if you get BSNL broadband to work for a whole month continuously without trouble, then either you are riding on your lady luck or you are just lucky. I mean, I have been using BSNL broadband for quite some time now and I already have 5-6 horrible experiences with them. Let me recollect just one.

India has infrastructural issues which impedes the progress of IT industry today. One of the major one is the availability of reliable high-speed broadband service. The major broadband service providers (BSNL Dataone^review & VSNL / Tata Indicom) in India are either currently owned by government or were until very recently so. In general (with very few exceptions) government employees in India are well known for extremely poor customer care & service. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that customers are treated like dirt. Simply because government employees get paid handsomely irrespective of their level of service and / or capability to fulfill their duty. As an IT company on budget we need reliable broadband service (1Mbps +) with 24/7 availability. Here is how we solved it.
