Online piracy affects every material that can be moved online - music, video, books and software. A viable plan for stopping online piracy will take into account the numerous p2p distribution and tracker sites along with sites hosted in foreign countries which offers direct download.

Steve Jobs Advocates Abolishing DRM

Steve Jobs in his Thoughts on Music article explores the alternatives to DRM going forward. He explores three options - 1. keeping the current system as is, 2. license FairPlay DRM to current and future competitors with the goal of achieving interoperability between different company’s players and music stores and 3. abolish DRMs entirely.

James R. Schaffer, Jeffrey A. Kilbride, and Jennifer R. Clason were each charged on Thursday with two counts of fraud and one count of criminal conspiracy under the U.S. law known as CAN-SPAM, short for Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act.
