But all grapevines on Apple's new releases came to end at World Wide Developer Conference on Monday. With all the hypes concentrated on iPhone, Apple's announcement for MacBook Pro seems sedimented . It's our effort to have an insight of Apple's notebook. At World Wide Developers Conference Apple revealed that it would be adding to its MacBook Pro family with a 13-inch notebook that would be available in different price points. As the 13-inch MacBook Pro joins the Pro line, Apple won't leave its white polycarbonate MacBook. For the time being, the white MacBook will still be offered by the company, starting at $999.

After our early story of Acer netbooks embracing Android OS, we along with the whole tech world, were interested in  following up with any further news on the same. As the first news is out, it looks wow-fully interesting. Atom N270 with a 10.1- Aspire one D250 was taken for the test at COMPUTEX by Jim Wang,  Global operations president, Acer. The whole boot up process including the complete desktop load time took about 18 seconds at max. And the shut down was instantaneous, hardly 2 seconds! The demo machine had Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G or WiMAX products powered by the WAN.

Six years ago, when Psion announced their netBook, it was an irreplaceable breakthrough for mobile enterprise market. Excuse the geeks for they must have hallucinated of the next big thing, probably a cloned descendant of Mactini. So what could be the future of post-netbook world? The notebooks had paved the way for netbooks and now they would be conceding the legacy to their generic offspring nomenclatured as smartbook. Well, genesis of the term seems to be an extraction from the amalgamation of smartphone and netbook. This obviously is a breaking news for those conformist with the broadest opinion accusing netbook to be an unfeasible piece of vendor-speak.

There was a conscious exposition of the new thing last November in a speech by a marketing executive from hard-drive maker Western Digital. What could be deciphered from the speech was that the smartbook would be a computing device similar in size or slightly smaller version of netbook equipped with smartphone like features.

Apple's updated MacBook was a hush-hush affair, only to be seen on the company's online store.
