If you have a computer and unfortunately you live in a power-cut prone area, by now you know this subject is of your utmost interest. And ours were just that. In order to understand the nitty-gritties of an UPS and also to have a comparative picture of all the leading UPS companies in India, we had called them up directly to take a survey. An information is an information only when it comes out of the horse's mouth. We did that for you and now lets go into the details.
Specification
We were focusing on a 6KVA online UPS with at least one hour battery back-up. We had the following points to consider

- How will the overload be handled (Will it shutdown there only or warn before)
- Warranty of Product & Battery
- Service and AMC (annual maintenance cost)
- Price
- Power factor
- Efficiency
- Customer Service

I know most of you would be outraged at such a question. However just for a moment take a look at the biodata of a jehadi who worked as a senior software engineer / architect at Yahoo. He is a capable technologist, has deep understanding of Linux, Unix & nginx, httpd and other technologies. He is a must hire at most companies he will apply to. However the situation changes drastically if you knew he was a hardcore jehadi and responsible for mass-murder / terrorist attacks.

By now all of are aware how Mansoor Peerbhoy has masterminded the terrorist attacks in India, that he showed no remorse in killing non-muslims and doesn't care about the consequences, you are also aware how he was a senior software engineer working at Yahoo / Zimbra and earning an impressive salary by Indian standards. You also heard that he was very tech savvy and an nginx (a faster and apparently better alternative to Apache web server or even lighttpd web server) expert. Just how tech savvy was he?

Broadband has arrived in India not so long ago. But it has already reached the desks of almost all the internet users. Sadly though, the broadband service has not improved considering its exponentially growing popularity. This time my eye is on the premium Broadband Internet Service Providers in India and how they fair or fail to impress us in individual segments. So without much ado let us go there directly.

"In India, fears about the experiment spread rapidly through the media" - Reuters & quoted verbatim by MSNBC
"But in deeply religious and superstitious India…" - Reuters & quoted verbatim by MSNBC
What kind of stupid yellow journalism is this?
Who gave Reuters the right to categorize and denigrate a whole country based on its incorrect and biased views?
As an Indian, I deeply resent this piece of yellow journalism from Reuters.
Yellow journalism, in short, is biased opinion masquerading as objective fact. Moreover, the practice of yellow journalism involved sensationalism, distorted stories, and misleading images for the sole purpose of boosting newspaper sales and exciting public opinion. It was particularly indicative of two papers founded and popularized in the late 19th century
Yellow journalism is journalism that downplays legitimate news in favor of eye-catching headlines that sell more newspapers. It may feature exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, sensationalism, or unprofessional practices by news media organizations or journalists.
The job of a journalist is to report facts and only facts. The facts in this case was that a simple village girl was mislead by media (yellow journalism) into believing that the world was coming to an end. The media incorrectly highlighted speculations by some doomsayers without highlighting the negation of their views by reputed scientists. As a result a poor young women decided to end her life.
So yellow journalism by Indian press took one life in Bhopal and yellow journalism by Reuters managed to denigrate the whole country by telling the world that India as a whole is a "deeply superstitious" country! Bravo Reuters!

Apple launched iPhone in India, a country with only 1.2 billion people and overall not considered rich like their counterparts in USA. In USA Apple launched iPhone for $199 only. Steve Jobbs also promised that it will be similalry priced across all markets. So how did they target a market of 1.2 B with a very high mobile pernetration and nowhere as rich as USA? By pricing iPhone 3G at 4 times the US price at Rs. 31, 000 only (and lockdown for a year to the service provider) and without 3G. Imagine how the market reacted…
